Pedro Felipe Neves de Muñoz

Bacharel em história pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2007) e em psicologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2018). Tem mestrado (2010) e doutorado (2015) em História das Ciências pela Casa de Oswaldo Cruz/Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (COC/FIOCRUZ). Entre dezembro de 2013 e janeiro de 2015, foi bolsista CAPES/DAAD na Alemanha, quando realizou um doutorado sanduíche na Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin). Em 2016, recebeu uma Menção Honrosa no Prêmio CAPES de Tese 2016, na área de História, pela tese: À Luz do Biológico: psiquiatria, neurologia e eugenia nas relações Brasil-Alemanha (1900-1942). Em 2019, foi o vencedor do V Prêmio ABEU 2019, na categoria Ciências Sociais, com o livro Clínica, Laboratório e Eugenia: uma história transnacional das relações Brasil-Alemanha. Atualmente é professor do Departamento de História da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), onde leciona as disciplinas História das Cidades, História do Mundo Contemporâneo e História do Brasil República. Realiza pesquisas em História das Ciências e em História Contemporânea sob a perspectiva transnacional e global. Tem grande interesse pela história das migrações, da psiquiatria, da neurologia e da eugenia, bem como pela história das relações Germano-Latino-Americanas no século XX. Entre outubro de 2019 e outubro de 2021, realizou pesquisas na Alemanha sobre o intercâmbio do Museu Alemão de Higiene de Dresden com a América Latina, na qualidade de visiting scholar do Instituto de Estudos Latino-Americanos da Universidade de Berlim.

Bachelor in History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2007) and in Psychology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2018). He has a master (2010) and PhD (2015) in History of Sciences from Casa de Oswaldo Cruz / Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (COC / FIOCRUZ). Between December 2013 and January 2015, he was a CAPES / DAAD scholarship holder in Germany, when he was visiting doctoral student at the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin). In 2016, he received an Honorable Mention at the 2016 CAPES Thesis Award, in the area of History, through his thesis: In the Light of the Biological: psychiatry, neurology and eugenics in Brazil-Germany relations (1900-1942). In 2019, he won the V Prêmio ABEU 2019, in the Social Sciences category, with the book Clinic, Laboratory and Eugenia: a transnational history of Brazil-Germany relations. He is currently a professor at the Department of History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), where he teaches the subjects History of Cities, History of the Contemporary World and History of the Republic of Brazil. He conducts research in the History of Science and Contemporary History from a transnational and global perspective. He has interest in the history of migration, psychiatry, neurology and eugenics, as well as the history of German-Latin American relations in the 20th century. Between October 2019 and October 2021, he carried out a research in Germany on the exchange of the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden with Latin America, as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin.
