Bruno de Oliveira Garcia

Bachelor's degree in Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering from the Federal University of Tocantins-UFT. Master and Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology from the Federal University of Lavras and MBA student in Agribusiness from ESALQ-USP. Had developed works in the areas of research: conservation and post-harvest physicochemical characterization of vegetables, production of biodiesel and use of its residues, molecular biology, and regulation of flowering mediated by microRNAs. Currently is developing research work in the field of plant biotechnology: biochemical characterization, metabolomics, plant tissue culture, genetic transformation of plants with gene regulation techniques via RNAi, gene editing via CRISPR in sugarcane, and studies of the economic viability of cultivars developed by biotechnology in agribusiness.

Graduado em Engenharia de Bioprocessos e Biotecnologia pela Universidade Federal do Tocantins-UFT. Meste e Doutor em Biotecnologia Vegetal pela Universidade Federal de Lavras e MBA em Agronegócios pela ESALQ-USP. Desenvolveu trabalhos nas áreas de pesquisa: Conservação e caracterização físico-química pós-colheita de vegetais, produção de biodiesel e aproveitamento de seus resíduos, biologia molecular, regulação do florescimento mediado por microRNAs. Atualmente desenvolve trabalhos de pesquisa na área de biotecnologia vegetal: Caracterização bioquímica, metabolômica, cultura de tecidos vegetais, transformação genética de plantas com técnicas de regulação gênica via RNAi, edição gênica via CRISPR em cana-de-açúcar e estudos da viabilidade econômica de cultivares desenvolvidas por biotecnologia na agroindústria.
