Eduardo Melani Rocha

Graduado em Medicina pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1991) e doutorado em Clínica Médica pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000). Atualmente é Professor Titular da Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP-USP). Na Medicina, atua em Oftalmologia, e em pesquisas nos temas: glândula lacrimal, superfície ocular, olho seco, insulina, distúrbios hormonais, terapia gênica e síndrome de Sjögren. Entre 1995 e 1997 fez "research fellowship" no Schepens Eye Research Institute/Harvard Medical School. Em 2011 concluiu pós-doutorado no NIH onde estudou a aplicação de terapia gênica para doenças da glândula lacrimal e da superfície ocular. É professor do programa de pós-graduação de Oftalmo, Otorrino, CCP e Fono da FMRP-USP, editor chefe dos Arquivos Brasileiros de Oftalmologia (ABO), foi chefe do Departamento de Oftalmologia, Otorrinolaringologia e Cirurgia de Cabeça e Pescoço da FMRP-USP entre 2016 e 2019. Atualmente é membro da ARVO, TFOS, BRAVO e CBO. Medical degree from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1991) and PhD at Clinical Medicine from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000). Has experience in Medicine, focusing on Medicine, acting on the following subjects: dry eye, lacrimal gland, hormone diseases, gene therapy and Sjögren's syndrome. Between 1995 and 1997 concluded a research fellowship at Schepens Eye Research Institute / Harvard Medical School. In 2011 concluded a postdoctoral fellowship at NIH where he studied the application of gene therapy for diseases of the lacrimal gland and ocular surface . He is full professor and member of the post-graduate program of Ophthalmology , Otorhinolaryngology ,Head & Neck Surgery of FMRP- USP , Editor in-Chief of ABO, Former Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, FMRP -USP (2016-2019) . He is currently a member of ARVO , TFOS , BRAVO and CBO .
