André Vereta Nahoum

Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Sao Paulo, Associate Researcher at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) and at the Culture and Economy Research Group at UFRJ. He holds a Ph.D in Sociology from the University of São Paulo and the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies) where he was a Doctoral Fellow. He holds a MSc Sociology (LSE) and MA Sociology of Law (Univ. of Sao Paulo). He possesses experience in the fields of ethnography of economic practices, economic sociology, economic anthropology, sociology of knowledge, political economy, material culture and exchange theories.

Professor Doutor do Departamento de Sociologia da Universidade de São Paulo, pesquisador associado ao Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento (Cebrap) e ao Núcleo de Estudos em Cultura e Economia (NUCEC-UFRJ). É doutor em sociologia pela Universidade de São Paulo e pela International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy do Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. Detém mestrados em sociologia pela London School of Economics and Political Science e em sociologia jurídica pelo Departamento de Filosofia e Teoria Geral do Direito da Universidade de São Paulo. Tem experiência em etnografia das práticas econômicas, sociologia e antropologia econômicas, sociologia do conhecimento, economia política, cultura material e teorias das trocas.
