Luis Antonio de Oliveira Alves

Doutor em Ciências Médicas com distinção CAPES 6, pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) em parceria com a University of Virginia (UVa), nos Estados Unidos. Tem experiência nas áreas de Patologia das Doenças Imunoinflamatórias, Virologia e Neurociências. Como pesquisador fellow na University of Virginia, colaborou no Center for Global Health (CGH) sob a direção do laureado pesquisador norte-americano Dr. Richard L. Guerrant, MD, (Thomas H. Hunter Professor of International Medicine), que contribuiu em 18 publicações juntamente com os três laureados com o Prêmio Nobel da University of Virginia. Concluiu seu pós-doutorado na Europa, desenvolvendo pesquisa sob a minuciosa orientação do Prof. Dr. João José de Oliveira Malva, Ph.D., renomado neurocientista português. Sua pesquisa foi conduzida no Institute of Biomedical Research on Light and Image (IBILI) e no Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), ambas unidades multiusuários de excelência associadas à Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra (UC). Atualmente, ministra as disciplinas de Bases Moleculares dos Seres Vivos que engloba os conteúdos de Bioquímica, Genética e Biologia Celular e Molecular bem como a disciplina de Fisiologia Humana para estudantes do primeiro e segundo anos do Curso de Bacharelado em Medicina do Centro Universitário INTA (UNINTA).

PhD in Medical Sciences, awarded with a CAPES 6 distinction, from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in collaboration with the University of Virginia (UVa), USA. He has expertise in the areas of Pathology of Immunoinflammatory Diseases, Virology, and Neurosciences. As a research fellow at the University of Virginia, he worked with the Center for Global Health (CGH) under the guidance of the renowned North American researcher, Dr. Richard L. Guerrant, MD (Thomas H. Hunter Professor of International Medicine). Subsequently, he pursued postdoctoral studies in Europe, conducting research under the mentorship of Prof. João José de Oliveira Malva, Ph.D., a prominent Portuguese neuroscientist. This research was undertaken at both the Institute of Biomedical Research on Light and Image (IBILI) and the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), two leading multi-user units connected to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (UC). He currently teaches courses in Biochemistry, Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Human Physiology to first and second-year students at the INTA University Center (UNINTA) Medical School.
