Veronica Gagete Miranda

Graduated with a Bachelor degree in International Relations from the University of Brasilia (Brazil), and with a Masters degree in Integrated Water Management from the University of Queensland (Australia). While at the University of Brasilia, developed several activities related to teaching and extension, such as the Cinema, Literature and Politics project, the Art and Culture Week in International Relations, and the Regional Forum of International Relations. Worked as a project manager for the Global Environmental Change and Global Learning Project, a joined initiative of the Universities of Brasilia, Michigan and Eastern Michigan. Joined the organizational team of the Rio Climate Challenge Initiative, during the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), supporting the facilitation of international debates attended by scientists and distinct politicians and personalities of the environmental arena, and assisting research activities, translations and logistics. The MA thesis received a Dean's Commendation for High Achievement. The thesis analysed fishing management projects against principles of IWRM (Integrated Water Resource Management). Interest Areas: International Politics, Environmental Politics, Sustainable Development, Globalization, Environmental Issues, Low Carbon Economy, International Basis Management, Climate Change, the water-energy-food cycle.

Possui graduacao em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade de Brasília e mestrado em Gestao Integrada de Recursos Hidricos pela Universidade de Queensland (Australia). Durante a graduação desenvolveu várias atividades relacionadas a ensino e extensão, tais como o projeto Cinema, Literatura e Política, a Semana de Arte e Cultura em Relações Internacionais, e o Fórum Centro-Oeste de Relações Internacionias.Trabalhou como gerente de projeto para o Global Environmental Change and Global Learning, projeto conjunto entre as Universidades de Brasília, de Michigan e Eastern Michigan nos Estados Unidos. Participou da equipe organizadora do Rio Climate Challenge Initiative, durante a Conferencia das Nacoes Unidas sobre Desenvolvimento Sustentavel (Rio+20), auxiliando a mediacao de debates internacionais entre a comunidade cientifica e importantes personalidades politicas da area ambiental, e apoiando ativides de pesquisa, de traducao e logisticas. Dissertacao de mestrado honrada por excelencia academica com The Dean's Commendation for High Achiement. A dissertacao avalia projetos de manejo de pesca no Baixo Amazonas de acordo com principios de IWRM (Integrated Water Resource Management). Áreas de Interesse: Política Internacional, Politica Ambiental, Desenvolvimento Sustentavel, Globalização, Meio Ambiente, Economia de Baixo de Carbono, Gestao de Bacias Hidrograficas Internacionais, Mudancas Climaticas, e o ciclo agua-energia-producao alimentar.
