Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (1989 ), Master in Electrical Engineering (1993 ). Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (1997) and associate professor (2001) . Full Professor (2006 ) by the Department of Electronics Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. Researcher at the Laboratory of Integrated Systems (LSI) coordinating research and development in the field of Interactive Electronic Media, focusing on the following themes : engineering of interactive media, digital health, high performance computing , virtual reality , computer graphics , and visualisation . In 2001 developed the first system of fully immersive virtual reality in Brazil called Digital CAVE . He is coordinator of the Onconet telemedicine network. Was International Coordinator of ACM- SIGGRAPH in 2000 . It is scientific coordinator of the LEA ( Lab Tests and Audit ) of ICP Brazil . Has actively participated in the definition of the Brazilian Digital TV System SBTVD . He was awarded the Personality Award for Innovation by the Union of Engineers of the State of São Paulo in 2006 . He was awarded the Medal of Merit Tamandaré by the Brazilian Navy in 2008 , Victory Medal by the Ministry of Defence in 2009 and Order of Naval Merit Official Degree in 2013 . Was general coordinator of the ACM Web3D 2010. It is part of the Brazilian Digital Television Forum since 2007 , forming the Advisory Board and the Technical Module , coordinating the provision of Security for Digital TV . Since 2011 he is the Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center for Interactive Technologies at USP .
Engenheiro Eletricista (1989), mestre em Engenharia Elétrica (1993), doutor em Engenharia Elétrica (1997) e livre-docência na especialidade Meios Eletrônicos Interativos (2001), é Professor Titular (2006) junto ao Depto. de Engenharia de Sistemas Eletrônicos da Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo. Tem atuado junto ao Laboratório de Sistemas Integráveis (LSI) coordenando pesquisas e desenvolvimentos na área de Meios Eletrônicos Interativos ,com foco nos seguintes temas: engenharia de meios interativos, saúde digital, computação de alto desempenho, realidade virtual, computação gráfica, e visualização. Em 2001 desenvolveu o primeiro sistema de realidade virtual totalmente imersivo no Brasil denominada CAVERNA Digital. É coordenador científico do LEA (Laboratório de Ensaios e Auditoria) da ICP Brasil. Desde 2011 Coordena o Centro Interdisciplinar em Tecnologias Interativas da USP.
