BA in History from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1988), master's at Sociology from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1994) and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature/ UFMG - FALE. Experience Historiography, Comparative Literature, epistemology and acting on the following subjects: , nation and nationalism, city studies, intellectual history, representation, culture, Midia Comunication, the new technology of Information, software studies. She has international training and has worked in universities in the USA (Harvard, UMASS and Vanderbilt).She has also participated in graduate programs, at the Master and PhD levels as professor (Universidade Mackenzie). She is a professor of the Graduate Program in Social Communication, at the Research Line: Media Interactions at PUCMinas.
Possui graduação em História pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1988), mestrado em Sociologia da Cultura pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1994) e doutorado em Literatura Comparada/Estudos Literários - UFMG - FALE. Atua nas áreas teóricas de Pensamento Social Brasileiro, História das Ideias, História da Cultura, Historiografia, e representações sociais. Tematicamente trabalha com cultura, cultura brasileira, nação, cidade, representações, Comunicação mediática, Novas tecnologias da Informação. Tem formação internacional e trabalhou em universidades nos EUA (Harvard, UMASS e Vanderbilt). Já participou também de Programas de Pós graduação, nos níveis de Mestrado e Doutorado como professor (Universidade Mackenzie). É professora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação Social, na Linha de Pesquisa: Interações Mediáticas, na PUCMinas.
