Graduou-se em Fisioterapia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1987), obteve seu mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1994) com área de concentração em Psicologia do Desenvolvimento - Gerontologia e doutorado em Ciências da Reabilitação -área de concentração em Geriatria e Gerontologia pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2000). Pós Doutorado pelo The George Institute for Global Health, Sydney University, Australia. Em 1992 participou do Short Course Implications on Ageing na London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine em Londres com bolsa pelo British Council. Atualmente é professora do Programa de Mestrado e Doutorado em Fisioterapia da Universidade Cidade de São Paulo-UNICID. É professora colaboradora no Programa de Pós-graduação, nível Mestrado e Doutorado, em Gerontologia da UNICAMP. É Membro do Comitê Educacional da Fragility Fracture Network e colaboradora do ILC-Brasil. Tem experiência na área de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional, com ênfase em Gerontologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: envelhecimento, fragilidade, funcionalidade, e quedas. Atualmente é consultora da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) e membro do Global Network on Long-term care (GNLTC) vinculada ao Programa WHO Global strategy and action plan on Ageing and Health. Coordena uma rede de pesquisa para estudar o impacto da Covid-19 na mobilidade de pessoas idosas - Rede de Pesquisa Remobilize e o Grupo de Pesquisa em Prevenção de Quedas - PrevQuedas Brasil. É pesquisadora com Bolsa de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq - Nivel 2
She graduated in Physiotherapy at the Universidade de São Paulo - USP (1987), obtained his master's degree in Education at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP (1994) within the field of Developmental Psychology - Gerontology and took her PhD degree in Rehabilitation Sciences at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo - UNIFESP (2000). She did a post doctoral fellowship at the George Institute for Global Health, Sydney University, Australia (2012). In 1992 she participated in the Short Course Implications on Ageing at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London with a grant from the British Council. She is currently a professor in the Master's and Doctorate Program in Physiotherapy at the University of São Paulo-UNICID. She is a collaborator professor in the Master and Doctorate program in Gerontology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UNICAMP. She is member of the Board of the Fragility Fracture Network and collaborator of ILC-Brasil. She has experience in Physiotherapy, with an emphasis on Gerontology, acting mainly on the following themes: aging, fragility, functionality, and falls. She is currently a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) on the Global Network on Long-term care (GNLTC) linked to the WHO Global strategy and action plan on Aging and Health Program. She is coordinating a national research network to study the impact of Covi-19 on mobility of older people - Research Network Remobilize and the research group on falls prevention - PrevQuedas Brasil.
