Gustavo Viana de Freitas

Doctorate in progress at the Environmental Science Laboratory (LCA) in the Postgraduate Program in Ecology and Natural Resources at the State University of Norte Fluminense (PPGERN). Master in Ecology and Natural Resources from the same university (2020). Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from Estácio de Sá University (2017). He developed a Scientific Initiation project in the field of botany, with a focus on Physiology of Development and Plant Growth. He has worked mainly in the area of ecophysiology of tropical biomes, in the lines of functional ecology and stress ecophysiology, emphasizing the functional morphoanatomy of vegetative organs (wood and leaf) and functional variability of traits. He has also been interested and deepened into the following topics: water relations, ecological anatomy, plant hydraulics, isotopic ecology.

Doutorado em andamento pelo Laboratório de Ciências Ambientais (LCA) no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Recursos Naturais pela Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (PPGERN). Mestre em Ecologia e Recursos Naturais pela mesma universidade (2020). Bacharel em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Estácio de Sá (2017). Desenvolveu projeto de Iniciação Científica na área de botânica, com foco em Fisiologia do Desenvolvimento e Crescimento Vegetal. Tem atuado principalmente na área de ecofisiologia de biomas tropicais, nas linhas de ecologia funcional e ecofisiologia do estresse, dando ênfase à morfoanatomia funcional dos órgãos vegetativos (lenho e folha) e variabilidade funcional de atributos. Também tem se interessado e aprofundado nos seguintes temas: relações hídricas, anatomia ecológica, hidráulica de plantas, ecologia isotópica.
