João Dias de Queiroz

He has a degree in Data Processing from the Federal University of Bahia (1974), a master's degree in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1978) and a doctorate in Knowledge Difusion from the Federal University of Bahia (2017). He is currently an Associate Professor at the UFBA School of Administration. He has experience in the field of Computer Science, with an emphasis on Information Systems, and currently researches and publishes in the Education area involving the theme of motivation, engagement and self-regulation (metacognition) of students in the teaching and learning process. It also works with information technology applied to education, e-learning, distance education and knowledge management. In the Multi-institutional and Multidisciplinary Doctorate in Difusion of Knowledge - DMMDC, he defended the thesis "Influence of intrinsic motivation and multidimensional engagement on student performance, from the perspective of the knowledge society", whose line of research is related to aspects of motivation and engagement focused on learning styles, digital culture, metacognition and self-regulation.

Possui graduação em Processamento de Dados pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1974), mestrado em Informática pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1978) e doutorado em Difusão do Conhecimento pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2017). Atualmente é Professor Associado da Escola de Administração da UFBA. Tem experiência na área de Ciência da Computação, com ênfase em Sistemas de Informação, e atualmente pesquisa e publica na área de Educação envolvendo a temática de motivação, engajamento e autorregulagem (metacognição) de alunos no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Atua também com tecnologia de informação aplicada a educação, e-learning, educação a distância e gestão do conhecimento. No Doutorado Multi-institucional e Multidisciplinar em Difusão de Conhecimento - DMMDC, defendeu a tese "Influência da motivação intrínseca e do engajamento multidimensional no desempenho do aluno, na perspectiva da sociedade do conhecimento", cuja linha de pesquisa se relaciona com aspectos de motivação e engajamento focados em estilos de aprendizagem, cultura digital, metacognição e autorregulação.
