He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Gama Filho University(1982), M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering at Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1986), Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) and Post Doctorate in the Chemical and Macromolecular Engineering Department at Rice University - Houston US (2014). He is currently Titular Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Fluid Mechanics and Non-Newtonian fluid flows, acting currently on the following topics: viscoplasticity, viscoelasticity, elasto-viscoplasticity, thixotropy, flow-type sensitive fluids and finite elements for fluids.
