I was born in Alagoas. I have a degree in Pharmacy (2002-2006), a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2006-2008) and a PhD in Chemistry from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2008-2011). From 2010 to 2011, I did an internship at Drexel University College of Medicine (Philadelphia, USA) as a fellow of the prestigious Fulbright Commission. From 2012 to 2014, I did a Post-Doctorate at Instituto Gonçalo Moniz (Fiocruz/Bahia). Since 2014, I have been a Researcher in Public Health at FIOCRUZ/Bahia and since 2014 I am a PQ/CNPq fellow. My two areas of research are: pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry and pharmacology. I work with antiparasitic drugs with special attention to the understanding of structure-activity relationships and the understanding of the drug-therapeutic target interaction. I am a permanent member of the faculty of the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine (PGBSMI, Grade 6 at CAPES), leader of the Malaria Research Group at FIOCRUZ/Bahia, president of the Biosafety Commission (CIBio) at FIOCRUZ/Bahia and a member of the Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry.
Nasci em Alagoas. Possuo graduação em Farmácia (2002-2006), mestrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas (2006-2008) e doutorado em Química pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2008-2011). De 2010 a 2011, realizei estágio na Drexel University College of Medicine (Filadélfia, EUA) como bolsista da prestigiosa Comissão Fulbright. De 2012 até 2014, realizei Pós-Doutorado no Instituto Gonçalo Moniz (Fiocruz/Bahia). Desde 2014, sou Pesquisador em Saúde Pública da FIOCRUZ/Bahia e desde 2014 sou bolsista PQ/CNPq. Minhas duas áreas de pesquisas são: química medicinal farmacêutica e farmacologia. Trabalho com fármacos antiparasitários com especial atenção ao entendimento das relações estrutura-atividade e na compreensão da interação fármaco-alvo terapêutico. Sou membro permanente do corpo docente da Pós-Graduação em Biotecnologia em Saúde e Medicina Investigativa (PGBSMI, Nota 6 na CAPES), líder do Grupo de Pesquisas em Malária da FIOCRUZ/Bahia, presidente da Comissão de Biossegurança (CIBio) da FIOCRUZ/Bahia e membro efetivo da Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry.
