Miércio Cardoso de Alcântara Neto

Is a Professor - under exclusive dedication (DE) - and Researcher at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), crowed to the Institute of Technology (ITEC) and linked to the Faculty of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering (FEEB). Received the B.Sc. degree in Engineering with a qualification in Telecommunications Engineering from the Institute of Higher Studies of the Amazon (IESAM - 2010), M.Sc. (2013), Ph.D. (2015), and Post-doc (2018) in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Telecommunications by the UFPA. He is a researcher linked to the Research Group on Applied Electromagnetism of UFPA, Research Group in Computational Intelligence and Naval Technology (GICNAV), Computer and Telecommunications Laboratory (LCT), Computational Intelligence Laboratory and Systems Optimization (LINCSIS), National Institute of Science and Technology in Wireless Communication (INCT-CSF) and the Brazilian Society of Microwaves and Optoelectronics (SBMO). His research interests include Computational Intelligence (CI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and optimization techniques based on bioinspired computing (heuristics and meta-heuristics), electromagnetic theory, nanoelectronics and nanophotonics, microwave circuits, sensors, antenna projects, selective frequency filter (FSS) projects, electromagnetic circulator projects, industrial process optimization, and Naval technology. Currently, he serves as: Deputy Director of ITEC / UFPA, Presidency of the Teaching Chamber of the Institute, Coordinates LINCSIS and the Ideas Development Laboratory (LDI) and is Vice-Coordinator of LCT, and Full Member of the Deliberative Council of SBMO. In addition, he was the coordinator of the undergraduate course in Biomedical Engineering at FEEB / ITEC / UFPA between 2017 and 2018, and the Director of FEEB between 2018 and 2022. He is a MM and worker of the ARLS Fênix and Fraternidade n. 53 and LEM George Washington n. 87, both jurisdictions of the Grand Lodge Masonic of Pará (GLEPA), East of Belém of Pará State, Brazil, and Grau 18 of the High Degrees of the REAA. Likewise, he is an academic at the Masonic Academy of Letters of the State of Pará (AMALEP), who was sworn on 02/15/2019 to occupy the chair of no. 29, whose patron is Benjamin Sodré.

Possui graduação em Engenharia com habilitação em Engenharia de Telecomunicações pelo Instituto de Estudos Superiores da Amazônia (IESAM - 2010), Mestrado (2013), Doutorado (2015) e Pós-Doutorado (2018) em Engenharia Elétrica com ênfase em Telecomunicações, ambos os títulos obtidos através do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica (PPGEE) / ITEC / UFPA. Outrossim, é pesquisador vinculado ao: Grupo de Pesquisa em Eletromagnetismo Aplicado da UFPA, Grupo de Pesquisa em Inteligência Computacional e Tecnologia Naval (GICNAV), Laboratório de Computação e Telecomunicação (LCT), Laboratório de Inteligência Computacional e Otimização de Sistemas (LINCSIS), Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia em Comunicação Sem Fio (INCT-CSF) e à Sociedade Brasileira de Micro-ondas e Optoeletrônica (SBMO). Possui interesse em pesquisas que incluem: Inteligência Computacional (IC), Inteligência Artificial (IA) e técnicas de otimização baseadas na computação bioinspirada (heurística e meta-heurística), teoria eletromagnética, nanoeletrônica e nanofotônica, circuitos de micro-ondas, sensores, projetos de antenas, projetos de filtros seletivos de frequência (FSS), projetos de circuladores eletromagnéticos, otimização de processos industriais e tecnologia Naval. Atualmente, exerce as seguintes funções administrativas: Direção Adjunta do ITEC / UFPA, Presidência da Câmara de Ensino do ITEC; Membro Titular do Comitê Local de Acompanhamento e Avaliação (CLAA) do Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET) da UFPA; coordena o LINCSIS e o Laboratório de Desenvolvimento de Ideias (LDI); é Vice-coordenador do LCT; e, Membro Titular do Conselho Deliberativo da SBMO. Ademais, foi coordenador do curso de graduação em Engenharia Biomédica da FEEB / ITEC / UFPA entre os anos de 2017 e 2018, e Diretor da FEEB entre os anos de 2018 e 2022. É MM e obreiro da ARLS Fênix e Fraternidade n. 53 e da LEM George Washington n. 87, ambas jurisdicionadas à Grande Loja Maçônica do Pará (GLEPA), Oriente de Belém do Pará, e Grau 18 dos Altos Graus do REAA. Igualmente, é acadêmico da Academia Maçônica de Letras do Estado do Pará (AMALEP), fora empossado no dia 15/02/2019 para ocupar cadeira de n. 29, cujo patrono é Benjamin Sodré.
