Dr. Jonas Ivan Nobre Oliveira

Biomédico com mestrado em Ciências Biológicas/UFRN e doutorado em Bioquímica e Biologia Molecular/UFRN. Professor associado do Departamento de Biofísica e Farmacologia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Na pesquisa, possui experiência em campos da Modelagem Molecular de sistemas biológicos, com ênfase nos seguintes temas: (i) Bioquímica quântica da interação ligante-receptor; [ii] Estabilidade estrutural e energética de biocomplexos; [iii] Transporte eletrônico em biomoléculas; [iv] Caracterização óptica, eletrônica e termodinâmica de moléculas químicas; [v] Química Computacional/Farmacoinformática - predição de propriedades fisicoquímicas, farmacocinéticas e toxicológicas de compostos bioativos; [v] Imunoinformática - identificação de epítopos, construção de protótipos de vacinas e plataformas de imunodiagnóstico; [vi] modelagem por homologia, simulações de docking, de dinâmica molecular e QM/MM de estruturas biológicas. College degree in Biomedicine/UFRN, specialist teacher/UNP, Master in Biological Sciences/UFRN and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/UFRN. He is currently a professor in the higher education career at the Department of Biophysics and Pharmacology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In research, he has experience in bioinformatics and molecular modeling of biological systems, with emphasis on the following topics: (i) quantum biochemistry of ligand-receptor interaction; (ii) structural and energetic stability of biocomplexes; (iii) electronic transport in biomolecules; (iv) optical, electronic and thermodynamic characterization of chemical molecules; (v) pharmacoinformatics - prediction of pharmacokinetic and toxicological properties of bioactive compounds; (v) immunoinformatics, homology modeling, docking and molecular dynamics. National and international scientific partnerships: UFC, UFERSA, UFAL, Florida International University/USA, University of Khartoum/Sudão, University of Science and Technology/Gana, Daffodil International University/Bangladesh, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology/Bangladesh, Bangladesh Council of Scientific Industrial Research/Bangladesh e Universiti Sains Malaysia/Malaysia. Reviewer for 06 scientific journals and 03 research funding organizations. As of July 2022, he has published a total of 43 scientific articles / patents and supervised 22 students in science initiation, master or PhD projects.
