Getúlio Rodrigues de Oliveira Filho was born in Pelotas, Brazil, in 1956. He graduated in Medicine at Federal University of Pelotas in 1980, post-graduate in Anesthesiology at Hospital Governador Celso Ramos, affiliated to the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianopolis, SC, Brazil, and obtained his Ph. D. degree in Anesthesiology at the University of Sao Paulo Medical School. He is currently professor of Anesthesiology of the Department of Surgery of the Federal university of Santa Catarina, in Florianopolis, SC, Brazil. He was a former member of the Committee for Education and Training and Director of the Scientific Department of the Brazilian Society of Anesthesiology. He currently serves as an editor member of the Editorial Board of Anesthesia & Analgesia. He is also currently a member of the Education and Publications Committees of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA). His research includes graduate medical education in anesthesiology, in-training supervision, learning curves and mathematical models for procedural and cognitive skills, and resident evaluation methods.
graduado em Medicina pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (1980), residência médica em Anestesiologia no CET/SBA Integrado de Anestesiologia da SES-SC e doutorado em Medicina (Anestesiologia) pela Faculdade de Medicina da USP. Atualmente é Professor Doutor Adjunto de Anestesiologia do Departamento de Cirurgia do Curso de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina e Professor do Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Médicas da UFSC onde desenvolve linha de pesquisa em educacao e informação em saúde, con ênfase em curvas de aprendizado, supervisão e percepções sobre o ambiente de ensino e treinamento.
