Graduate in Biological Sciences-Zoology at the University of Gent-Belgium (1972). Ph.D. obtained in Biological Sciences from the laboratory of Genetics of Profs. J. Schell and M. Van Montagu at the University of Gent-Belgium (1979). Full-time teaching and research assistant at the Institute of Histology at the Faculty of Medicine, University Gent-Belgium (1974 -1985). Scientific collaborator and group leader of the Microscopy Unit at the Plant Genetics laboratory, University Gent-Belgium (1985-1991). Since 1991 Research Engineer from the French National Agronomical Research Institute (INRA) heading the Cell Biology / Microscopy Unit at the INRA ?Agrobiotech? centre in Sophia Antipolis (France).Since 2013 Visiting professor (CAPES) at Embrapa Cenargen Brasilia DF and actually Visiting Researcher (PVE-CNPq) at the Embrapa Cerrados and Cenargen Institute Brasilia DF.Experience in plant cell biology involving research on cell division, plant cytoskeleton and plant/nematode interactions. Expertise in botanical electron and optical microscopy and related in-situ visualization methods.
doctorate in molecular genetics from Ghent University (1979). Has experience in General Biology, acting on the following subjects: confocal microscopy, plants, in situ imaging methods, parasitc nematodes and confocal ratio-imaging microscopy.
