Engenheiro Florestal (1987), mestre (1994) e doutor (1999) em Ciência Florestal pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa. Professor Titular e atualmente chefe do Departamento de Engenharia Florestal da Universidade Federal de Viçosa e Diretor Geral da Sociedade de Investigações Florestais (SIF). Tem experiência na área de Recursos Florestais e Engenharia Florestal, com ênfase em Política e Legislação Florestal, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: economia florestal, política e legislação florestal, mercado e gestão florestal.
Forest engineer for the Federal University of Viçosa (1987), master (1994) and doctor (1999) in Forest Sciences for the UFV. Currently is Titular professor IV of the Department of Forest Engineering of the UFV in the areas of Politics and Forest Management in the graduation and Forest Planning in the pos-graduation.
