Cedric SAUZEAT
Dr. Cédric Sauzéat is a French professor at University of Lyon / ENTPE (?Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l?Etat?). He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering in the field of Soil Mechanics in January 2003 at INSA of Lyon/ENTPE. Before, he graduated from ENTPE in 1997 and earned his Master?s degree at the same time.Since 2003, he has participated in the supervision of about 20 PhD?s and 50 Master?s theses. He has published more than 50 papers in scientific journals or books. His work focuses on the behaviour of bituminous materials including binders, mastics and mixtures, and the structural behaviour of pavements. The research covers different domains, viscoelasticity for small strains domain, damage induced by great number of cycles or fatigue, large strains domain until failure with cyclic loading or not, thermo-mechanical coupling and crack propagation. Phenomena are observed, described and analysed in order to develop adapted rheological models. Such models are also implemented in Finite Elements software, which enables investigation of pavement structures for roadways, railways and airways. Since 2003, he is an active member of RILEM Technical Committees on bituminous materials. He is a member of the European Asphalt Technology Association and of the International Society for Asphalt Pavements. In 2020, he will chair the RILEM International Symposium on Bituminous Materials in Lyon, ISBM Lyon 2020. In 2008, he organised the 3rd EATA Conference (2008) in Lyon. He also organised the ISLyon?03 Conference, under the auspices of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
