I am Naveen BP completed B. E (Civil Engineering) from the University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), MTech (Geotechnical Engineering) from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, M.S(Geotechnical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Science and Ph.D. (Geotechnical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
My academic training and 15 years of experience working as a Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering prepare me to be an effective researcher and instructor in your Department. My Doctoral dissertation was conducted in consultation with Prof. Sivapullaiah & Prof Sitharam T G.
My area of specialization is waste mechanics and management, landfill engineering, Water quality modelling, modelling contamination transport, pile foundation, ground improvement.
My Ph. D. Thesis is referred by the Government of Karnataka, India, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for reopening of Mavallipura landfill and upgrading the municipal solid waste management rules 2000.
Currently, I am working as Associate Professor & Head, Amity University Haryana.
Also, I published one textbook, title: ?Investigation of the Geotechnical Properties of Municipal Solid Waste? and two book chapters title: ?Seismic Behaviour and Dynamic Site Response of Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in India? & ?Solid Waste Management-Current Scenario & Challenges in Bangalore?.
I am a dynamic student and passion for research and development in Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineering with an excellent academic track record. I have 23 papers in Journals, 16 papers in International conferences, 15 in National Conferences Proceedings, 1 book & 2 book chapters, 6 patents filled & 5 research proposals submitted to my credit. I have the following expertise; In-Situ and Laboratory Testing of Static and Dynamic Properties of MSW & Soil Materials; Cyclic Triaxial Test; Ultrasonic Testing; Evaluation of Properties of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW); Estimation of Carbon stored in MSW landfill site; Composition of MSW Landfill Leachate; Seismic Response of Landfills; Designing and Construction of Piles under various field conditions; Ground Improvement Techniques such as Micropile, Soil nailing, Stone column.,Etc.
I have experience in using a geophysical survey like Multichannel Analyzer of Surface Waves (MASW); Static and Dynamic plate loading testing; Static and Laterally Loaded Pile testing; Pile Integrity & Dynamic Pile Load Test, Water sampling and analysis. I am proficient with modeling software and applications like PLAXIS-2D, PLAXIS-3D, GEO5, OASYS, SHAKE2000, DEEPSOIL, STAAD-PRO, POLLUTE, Surfseis.
Even My research articles are highlighted in top newspaper like Times of India, Deccan Herald..., etc.,
I was involved in the major projects like:
1. Seismic profiling using 1-D & 2-D MASW survey at the S-40 Foundation, at Chenab Bridge Site, Jammu, India.
2. Environmental Impact assessment carried out at Castle Rock-Kulem-Vasco Railway Doubling Project section.
3. OSV monitoring for Underground Excavation in Bangalore Metro Project.
