Ronaldo holds a MSc (2011) and a PhD (2015) from the Program of Morphological Sciences of the Institue of Biomedical Sciences in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2016 to 2021). Currently he is an Adjunct Professor A at the Institue of Biomedical Sciences in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, within the Undergraduate Programme of Histology, where his is also the coordinator of the Research Programme on Bioengineering and Cell Therapies. He has experience in Morphology, focusing on Histology, Cytology and Cell Biology, acting on the following subjects: tissue engineering, mesenchymal stromal cells and platelet-rich plasma.
Ronaldo é mestre (2011) e doutor (2015) pelo Programa de Ciências Morfológicas (PCM) do Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas (ICB) da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Realizou estágio pós-doutoral no Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) (2016 a 2021). Atualmente é Professor Adjunto A no ICB da UFRJ, vinculado ao Programa de Graduação em Histologia, onde também atua como coordenador do Programa de Pesquisa em Bioengenharia e Terapias Celulares. Tem experiência na área de Morfologia, com ênfase em Histologia, Citologia e Biologia Celular, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: engenharia tecidual, células estromais mesenquimais e plasma rico em plaquetas.
