Kornilia Hatzinikolaou

Korina Hatzinikolaou is Assistant Professor, at the School of Early Childhood Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is also the Scientific Coordinator of the NGO "one child, one world", situated in Athens, Greece. She has worked as Psychologist/researcher at the Department of Mental Health and Social Welfare, Institute of Child Health, specializing in infant mental health. She read Psychology at the University of Crete, Greece, and she received her PhD in Psychology from Winniccott Research Unit, School of Psychology, University of Reading, UK. She has lectured Developmental Psychology and Developmental Psychopathology in higher education institutions in Brazil and in Greece and she has coordinated large international projects on typical and atypical socio-emotional development of infants and toddlers, on child abuse and neglect, on child trafficking, among others. As President of the NGO Institute for Psychological Social and Cultural Development "Ψ-polis" has gained experience on Project Management and Third Sector companies. She is accredited practitioner of Video Interaction Guidance, and Trainee Supervisor for the same method.

Possui graduação em Psicologia pela Universidade de Creta (1998) e doutorado em Psicologia - University Of Reading (2002). Atualmente é Professora Assistente em Psicopatologia do Desenvolvimento, School of Early Childhood Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Ela trabalhou como Psicologa/Pesquisadora na Instituicao Federal de Saude Infantil (Atenas, Grecia), e foi presidente da NGO "Instituto para o Desenvolvimento Psicologico Social e Cultural - Ψ-polis". Tem experiência na área de Psicologia, com ênfase em Psicologia do Desenvolvimento Humano e Psicopatologia do Desenvolvimento Humano, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: desenvolvimento socio-emocional infantil (0-3 anos),efeitos dos disturbios psicologicos da mae sobre o bebe e a crianca pequena, desenvolvimento tipico e atipico da empatia (na populacao geral e em populacoes clinicas), os efeitos do abuso e da negligencia infantile sobre o desenvolvimento socio-emocional do bebe e da crianca pequena. Ela e credenciada no metodo Video Interaction Guidance (VIG).
