Ugo Moschella

Ugo Moschella graduated in Physics from Bologna University and obtained his Ph. D. from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste in 1991.He has been appointed as a post-doctoral fellow at the Catholic University of Louvain, a Maitre de Conferences at the University of Paris 7, a Marie Curie fellow at the CEA (Saclay) - Service de Physique Theorique, a research fellow at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) - Bures-sur-Yvette and as a researcher in theoretical physics at the University of Milan and then at the University of Insubria at Como. Since 2001 he is associate professor of theoretical physics at the same University. He is the scientific director of the SIGRAV International Doctoral School in Relativity and Gravitation which is held every second year at Villa del Grumello in Como.He is editor of twelve books, editor of the Int. J. of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics and referee for Physical Review and Physical Review Letters, Classical and Quantum Gravity, Nuclear Physics, Physics Letters, Journal of Mathematical Physics, Journal of Physics A, JHEP, JCAP.Ugo Moschella's research focuses on Gravitation, Cosmology and Quantum Field Theory. Some of his main contributions concern Quantum Field Theory on the de Sitter and the anti-de Sitter universes, the infrared problem in gauge theory and the role of diffeomorphism groups in quantum physics. In cosmology he proposed in collaboration with Kamenshchik and Pasquier a model called the Chaplygin gas which has received a considerable attention in the search for dark energy.
