Robert Tew Boyle

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology (emphasis in Molecular Biology) from East Carolina University, Greenville NC, USA (1993), I also hold an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Biotechnology from Alamance Community College, Graham, NC, USA (1992) and a Doctorate of Sciences Degree in Comparative Biology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2004). I am currently an Associate Professor of Biophysics at the Federal University of Rio Grande. I have 8 years experience teaching Biophysics and 24 years of experience in research. I focus on cellular biophysics, and explore the following subjects: anemone polypeptides, cell death mechanisms, cell culture, volume regulation and pigmented cells.

Possui graduação em Ciencia Aplicada a Biotechnologia - Alamance Community College (1992), graduação em Biology - East Carolina University (1993) e doutorado em Biologia Comparada pela Universidade de São Paulo (2004). Atualmente é Professor Associado do Instituto de Ciências Biologicas de Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) (2009). Tem experiência na área de Biologia Celular e Biofisica Celular com ênfase em transporte intracelular, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: cultura celular, regulação de volume celular, células pigmentadas, proteínas motoras, fisiologia de cnidaria e crustaceos.
