Qamar Sarfaraz
Qamar Sarfaraz is graduated in agriculture (Soil and Environmental Sciences) from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad. He earned his masters degree from the University of Agriculture, Peshawar (Pakistan) and then he went to Brazil by availing the doctorate scholarship provided by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) through The World Academy of Science (TWAS) (190166/2014-2). There he worked, preparing biochars from different plant residues and animal manures and their use in agriculture, to reduce the soil acidity by application of biochars. During his doctorate at the Federal University of Santa Maria, he was one of 31 scholars (representing 11 different countries) awarded the Scholar Award from the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) in 2018. His specialization is in preparing Biochars, analysis, applying them to acidic soil under no-tillage system.
Currently, Qamar is working as Assistant Professor at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Uthal Balochistan-Pakistan.
graduation at B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture from The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad (2011), master's at Agriculture from The university of Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan (2013) and doctorate at Soil Sciences from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2019). Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Soil Science, acting on the following subjects: isotope, oryza sativa l, organic nitrogen, soil analysis and fertilization.
