Anna Carolina Arena Siqueira

Anna Carolina Siqueira is a public health researcher with a focus on social determinants of health and seeks to understand how gender, class, and race intersect. She currently is a researcher at Oncoguia, a cancer patient advocacy organization in São Paulo, Brazil, where she supports conducting patient research to better understand the challenges faced by people living with cancer and their caregivers in Brazil. She also is a researcher at SIMAS/CNPQ Research Group, an organization of Brazilian researchers from public universities who study social determinants of health and intersectionality. Her previous experiences include postdoctoral work at São Paulo?s Public Health University, Faculdade de Saúde Pública (USP) and participation in a 1.5 year public health professional training (PAP-CEREST/SP), a government program designed to train health professionals to understand, research, create and defend the right to health policies guaranteed in Brazil?s Constitution of 1988. She also completed a two year internship treating primary care patients within Brazil?s public health system, SUS, during her undergraduate education. Siqueira earned her doctoral degree in Health Science from São Paulo?s Medical University, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) where she also completed her Master of Health Science. She earned a Bachelor?s degree in Physical Therapy. She is also a proud mother of a boy and breast cancer surviver.

Has experience in Collective Health, focusing on Collective Health, acting on the following subjects: pesquisa qualitativa, identidade de gênero, mulheres trabalhadoras, saúde do trabalhador and biofeedback.
