Graduado em Matemática pela PUCPR (1976) e Engenharia Civil (1981) e Doutor em Engenharia de Computação - Universitè de Technologie de Compiègne França (1991), na Área de Inteligência Artificial / Visão Computacional, revalidado pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Foi consultor do CNPq e é consultor da CAPES. Atualmente aposentado e foi professor titular da Universidade UniCesumar e da PUCPR, e adjunto da Universidade Federal Tecnológica do Paraná (UTFPR). Atuou como professor/pesquisador nos Programas de Pós-graduação (PPG) em Engenharia Elétrica e Informática Industrial (CPGEI) e no PPG em Tecnologia e Sociedade (PPGTE) da UTFPR; PPG em Informática PPGIA e do PPG em Educação da PUCPR; no PPG em Gestão do Conhecimento nas Organizações e no PPG em Promoção da Saúde da UNICESUMAR. Foi Pró-reitor Pesquisa, Pós-graduação e extensão da PUCPR e da UNICESUMAR. Foi Diretor Geral do Ensino Superior da OPET. Foi bolsista de Produtividade 1 e 2 do CNPq por mais de 20 anos. Avaliador de diversas revistas científicas nacionais e internacionais. Foi bolsista pesquisador do Instituto Cesumar de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação (ICETI). Possui experiência acadêmica e científica na UTFPR e PUCPR na área de Ciência da Computação/ Inteligência Artificial / Visão Computacional, mais especificamente em Processamento, Análise, Reconhecimento e Reconstrução de Imagens e Aprendizagem de Máquina e no PPG em Educação da PUCPR atuou na área de Tecnologias Educacionais. Desenvolveu pesquisas em reconstrução de imagens 3D na área médica; em Analise e reconhecimento de documentos digitais; imagens biométricas e outras áreas de aplicações de imagens. Na UNICESUMAR atuou em pesquisas nas áreas de Gestão e Engenharia do Conhecimento e Tecnologias em Saúde. Desenvolveu por mais de 20 anos projetos de pesquisa e participou em programas de bi-titulação no nível de Mestrado e Doutorado com as Universidade de Tecnologia de Compiègne (UTC) - França e a com Escola de Tecnologia do Quebec/Universidade de Quebec (ETS) Montreal Canadá, além de diversos projetos de pesquisa no Brasil. Conforme o Lattes em 23/02/2023, orientou mais de 100 teses e/ou dissertações. Publicou 127 artigos em periódicos Internacionais e/ou Nacionais; 33 livros e/ou capítulos de livros; 177 artigos completos em Anais de Eventos Internacionais e Nacionais.
Graduated in Mathematics from PUCPR (1976) and Civil Engineering (1981) and PhD in Computer Engineering - Universitè de Technologie de Compiègne France (1991), in the Area of Artificial Intelligence / Computational Vision, revalidated by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) . Currently retired, he was a professor at UniCesumar University and PUCPR, and adjunct professor at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR). He was a research fellow at the Cesumar Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICETI). He has academic and scientific experience at UTFPR and PUCPR in the area of Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Computer Vision, more specifically in Processing, Analysis, Recognition and Reconstruction of Images and Machine Learning and at PPG in Education at PUCPR he worked in the area of Technologies Educational. He developed research in 3D image reconstruction in the medical field; in Analysis and recognition of digital documents; biometric imaging and other areas of imaging applications. At UNICESUMAR he worked in research in the areas of Knowledge Management and Engineering and Health Technologies. He has developed research projects for more than 20 years and participated in bi-degree programs at the Master's and Doctorate level with the Universities of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) - France and the Quebec School of Technology/University of Quebec (ETS) Montreal Canada, in addition to several research projects in Brazil. According to Lattes on 02/23/2023, he has supervised more than 100 theses and/or dissertations. He has published 127 articles in International and/or National journals; 33 books and/or book chapters; 177 complete articles in Annals of International and National Events.
