Nelio Domingues Pizzolato

Graduated in Industrial Mechanical Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1963), master in Production Engineering from the same university (1971), Ph.D. in the area of Quantitative Methods at the Business School from the University of North Carolina (1977), and post doctoral studies at the Université de Montréal (1987). Has experience on Production Engineering, focusing on Operations Research, acting mostly on the following subjects: logistics, public school location, civil construction, sequencing and production planning, industrial costing, and operations research. Assistant professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro since October 1969, was promoted to Associate professor in 1978 and to Emeritus professor in 2015. By this same time he became professor at the Catholic University of Petropolis (UCP) and coordinator of the Professional Graduate Program in Management of Engineering Systems (PGSE), function hold for 4 years (Jan. 1915 though Jan. 2019). He is associate member, and ex president of the Brazilian Society of Operations Research and member of the editorial Board of several academic journals, and eventual referee for journals such as Omega, ITOR, EURO among others, and evaluator of articles for numerous Brazilian Symposiums. He has experience on Production Engineering, with emphasys on Operations Research, particularly on the following fields: Logistics, Location, especially on public schools, Production Planning and Sequencing, and Industrial Costing. Possui graduação em Engenharia Industrial Mecânica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1963), bolsista do governo da Suiça na ETH de Zurique (1966), mestrado em Engenharia de Produção pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1971), doutorado em Business School - University of North Carolina (1977) e pós-doutorado na Université de Montréal (1987). Contratado pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro como professor assistente em outubro 1969, tornou-se professor associado em 1978 e professor emérito em 2015. Nesse mesmo ano tornou-se professor da Universidade Católica de Petrópolis (UCP) e coordenador do Programa Interdisciplinar de Pós-Graduação Profissionalizante em Gestão de Sistemas de Engenharia (PGSE), cargo que execeu por 4 anos (jan. 2015 a jan 2019. É, igualmente, associado titular da Sociedade Brasileira de Pesquisa Operacional, e seu ex-presidente, membro do corpo editorial dos periódicos Gestão & Produção (UFSCar), Pesquisa Operacional, PODES, Journal of Transportation Literature, Produção (ABEPRO), Revista Gestão Industrial (CEFET/PR), membro do International Editorial Board of the Review of Management and Economical Engineering (Romênia), e eventual avaliador de artigos para Omega (Oxford), International Transactions in Operational Research, European Journal of Operational Research dentre outros e avaliador de artigos para congressos brasileiros: SBPO; ENEGEP; SIMPOI, SIMPEP, CNEG, SPOLM etc. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Produção, com ênfase em Pesquisa Operacional, e principalmente nos seguintes temas: logística, localização, construção civil, planejamento e sequenciamento da produção e custos industriais.
