Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1979), Master's in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1984), Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998) and postgraduate Ph.D. at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (2009). She is currently a professor at the Fluminense Federal University. She has experience in Mechanical Engineering, emphasizing the Mechanics of Solid, Elastic, and Plastic Bodies, mainly using the Continuum Thermodynamics formalism to describe multiscale and multiphysics phenomena, such as finite strain, solute diffusion in solids, polymer swelling.
