Lorena Sales de Almeida

Bacharela em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) com complementação pedagógica em Licenciatura em Sociologia pelo CEFAP, especialista em Filosofia pela Universidade Cândido Mendes (UCAM), mestre e doutoranda em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). Na graduação e no mestrado desenvolvi pesquisas sobre violência contra mulheres e no doutorado tenho pesquisado a produção de discursos sobre Direitos Humanos no Brasil a partir de Organizações Não Governamentais (ONGs). Realizei estágio de doutorado na Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy da University of Toronto (UofT) pelo Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program. Fui membro do conselho editorial da Revista Científica Prelúdios, ligada ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Sociais (UFBA), também atuei como professora do PARFOR-UNEB e sou integrante do Laboratório de Estudos sobre Crime e Sociedade (LASSOS). Interesso-me por Sociologia atuando nos seguintes temas: Metodologia de Pesquisa Qualitativa; Direitos Humanos; Movimentos Sociais; Violência de Gênero; Sociologia e Educação.

Graduated in Social Sciences from the Federal University of the Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), Philosophy Specialist from the Cândido Mendes University, Master in Social Sciences (Sociology) from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and PhD candidate in Sociology (UFBA). Has experience in qualitative and quantitative research, participated in research related to gender, violence and human rights, all in the field of Sociology. In her undergraduate work, she works with women in situations of violence, and in her dissertation she worked with the discourses of men involved in situations of domestic violence. She has participated in a doctoral internship at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy - University of Toronto (UofT) through the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program and was editor of the Preludes Scientific Journal linked to the Graduate Program in Social Sciences (UFBA). She is currently researcher of the Laboratory for Studies on Violence, Solidarity and Human Rights (LASSOS) and develops research on human rights from non-governmental organizations in Brazil, from the perspective of the sociology of human rights. She is interested in Sociology working on the following topics: Sociological Theory; Research Methodology; Gender violence; Human rights; Social Movements; Education.
