Gabriel Marchesan Almeida
Gabriel is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), in Germany. He received his BSc. Degree in Computer Science from URI, Santo Angelo, Brazil in 2004. In the same year, he started his MSc Course in Electronics and Computing Engineering at Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Sao Jose dos Campos, SP, Brazil. In 2005, he moved to Pontifical Catholic University (PUCRS), Porto Alegre, Brazil, where he finished his MSc course in Computer Science in January 2007. In the second half of 2006, he was a visiting fellow at the Space Science Centre, University of Sussex, England, UK. For the few last years, he has been working in projects in cooperation with the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), funded by the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), both from Brazil. In 2007, he worked as researcher in embedded systems at INESC, Lisbon, Portugal. In 2008 he moved to Montpellier, France where he got, in 2011, his PhD in Microelectronics from University of Montpellier 2, LIRMM. Research Interests:Error correcting codes, spacecraft on-board computing systems, reconfigurable devices, embedded systems, FPGAs, cryptography, and multi-processor SoC.
bachelor's at Informática from Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões (2004), master's at Computer Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2007) and doctorate at Microelectronics from LIRMM-Université Montpellier II (2011). Has experience in Electric Engineering, acting on the following subjects: fpga, vhdl, rsa, reed-solomon and criptografia de chave pública.
