Ecólogo e pesquisador na área de biodiversidade. Minha tese de doutorado abordou a diversidade de espécies arbóreas em florestas sazonalmente alagáveis da Amazônia (http://hdl.handle.net/11449/191494). A dissertação de mestrado descreve a diversidade de árvores que compõem as florestas alagáveis na região do baixo rio Purus - Amazonas (https://bdtd.inpa.gov.br/handle/tede/2003). Durante a graduação estudei os padrões temporais de floração, frutificação e perdas e ganhos de folhas em arboretos, no Cerrado do estado de São Paulo, em ilhas costeiras, áreas degradadas e na floresta de terra firme Amazônica. Para meu trabalho de conclusão de curso eu realizei um experimento para avaliar a dispersão e predação de sementes de Cardeiro em fragmentos de floresta Amazônica. Tenho experiência na área de Ecologia Vegetal, com ênfase em Biogeografia, Ecologia de Comunidades, Biodiversidade, Fenologia, Dispersão de Sementes e Inventários Florestais. Meu foco de interesse em pesquisa é relacionado à origem e à manutenção da biodiversidade nas formações florestais Neotropicais.

My research focus is on the origin and maintenance of biodiversity in plant communities, mainly tree diversity in the Neotropical forests. I am interested in biogeographical and macroecological patterns and the associated process originating them. Much of my research is guided by field observations including biological surveys yielding information regard species abundance distribution in biological communities and species occurrence records in diverse environmental conditions. Beside the production of new information, I am interested on methodological and conceptual advances that allow the integration of such information. Thereby I am interested in statistical and theoretic models able to better describe the ecological patterns and to produce inferences that extrapolate the local scale. During my career, I am working to pursue a strong ability to collaborate with other scientists, stablish dialogue with local population, conduce field work even in remote tropical forests locations, and evaluate large datasets using up-to-date statistical models and reproducible computational codes. My main research interest is to keep delivering information about a multitude of living beings, always guided by ethic principles, my curiosity, and passion to the life.
