João Carlos Cordeiro Barbirato

Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Alagoas in 1987. In 1991, completed a Masters in Structural Engineering from the School of Engineering of São Carlos of USP, in 1999, completed a PhD in Structural Engineering from the School of Engineering of São Carlos of USP. Has experience in the area of Civil Engineering, with emphasis on Structural Mechanics, working mainly on the following topics: boundary elements method (structural problems in static and dynamic behavior) and simulations in urban climatology (energy balance model, numerical methods applied to climate modeling). Professor at UFAL since 1989, currently in the position of Full Professor at the Center of Technology of the Federal University of Alagoas. Has held relevant positions in the area of university management: was Substitute and Head of the Department of Structural Engineering, Vice-Director of CTEC; was Director of the Center for Technology (2001-2003/2012-2013); Coordinator of the course of Civil Engineering (2019-2020); Pro-Rector of Planning (2003-2006) and Pro-Rector of Institutional Management (2006-2011); National Coordinator of the Forum of Pro-Reactors of Planning and Administration of IFES (2009-2011). In September 2013 was ceded to hold the position of Deputy Municipal Secretary of Education of the municipality of Maceió until December 2016. The assignment was now renewed to exercise the position of Deputy Secretary of Education Governance in the period from January 2017 to February 2018, in the municipality of Maceió-AL.

Graduou-se em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas, em 1987. Em 1991, concluiu Mestrado em Engenharia de Estruturas pela Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da USP, em 1999, concluiu Doutorado em Engenharia de Estruturas pela Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da USP. Possui experiência na área de Engenharia Civil, com ênfase em Mecânica das Estruturas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: método dos elementos de contorno (problemas estruturais em comportamentos estático e dinâmico) e simulações em climatologia urbana (modelo de balanço de energia, métodos numéricos aplicados à modelagem climática). É Professor concursado da UFAL desde 1989, enquadrado atualmente no cargo de Professor Titular lotado no Centro de Tecnologia da Universidade Federal de Alagoas. Ocupou relevantes funções na área de gestão universitária: foi Suplente e Chefe do Departamento de Engenharia Estrutural, Vice-diretor do CTEC; foi Diretor do Centro de Tecnologia (2001-2003/2012-2013); Coordenador do curso de Engenharia Civil (2019-2020 e 2022- atual); Pró-Reitor de Planejamento (2003-2006) e Pró-Reitor de Gestão Institucional (2006-2011); Coordenador Nacional do Fórum de Pró-Reitores de Planejamento e Administração das IFES (2009-2011). Em setembro de 2013 foi cedido para exercer o cargo de Secretário Adjunto Municipal de Educação do município de Maceió até dezembro de 2016. A cessão foi renovada para exercer o cargo de Secretário Adjunto de Governança de Educação no período de janeiro de 2017 a fevereiro de 2018, no município de Maceió-AL.
