Gustavo Branco Germano

Doutorando em Música pela Universidade de São Paulo. Mestre (2020) em Processos de Criação Musical pela mesma instituição, com estágio de pesquisa na City University of New York (2019-2020) e financiamento da FAPESP. É licenciado em Música pela Universidade de São Paulo (2017), com período de intercâmbio acadêmico na York University (Toronto). Durante o mestrado, pesquisou a escuta como ação de composição, em particular em obras musicais que não utilizam produção intencional de sons. Foi bolsista de Iniciação Científica da FAPESP (2016-2017) com uma pesquisa sobre a relação entre silêncios e durações estendidas na obra de artistas ligados ao coletivo Wandelweiser. Integrante do NuSom - Núcleo de Pesquisas em Sonologia da Universidade de São Paulo, do grupo de pesquisas LAURA - Lugar de Pesquisas em Auralidade e do coletivo de música experimental NME. Estudou violão com Everton Gloeden, Daniel Murray e Edelton Gloeden.

Ph.D. student at the University of São Paulo (USP). Completed a Master's degree in Music (2020) at the same instititution with a research internship at the City University of New York (CUNY) (2019-2020), financed by FAPESP. His research proposed an understanding of listening as a compositional act, with particular emphasis on musical works that don't require any intentional production of sound. Graduated in Music Education at the University of São Paulo (2017) with an exchange period at York University (Toronto). Developed an undergraduate research project, financed by FAPESP, on the relation between silences and extended durations in the work of artists associated with the Wandelweiser collective. Member of NuSom - Research Center on Sonology, LAURA - Place for Research on Aurality and the experimental music collective NME. Studied classical guitar with Everton Gloeden, Daniel Murray and Edelton Gloeden.
