Aluisio Cabalzar Filho

Graduado em Ciências Sociais (1991), mestre em Antropologia Social pela Universidade de São Paulo (1995) e doutor em Antropologia e Sociologia pelo Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies de Genebra (2022). Desde 1996 é pesquisador e assessor do Instituto Socioambiental. Tem experiência na área de etnologia indígena, atuando na região do noroeste amazônico, especialmente no rio Tiquié, desde 1991. É especialista nos povos Tukano Orientais. Tem realizado pesquisas relacionadas sobretudo a organização social, cosmologia, calendários indígenas e o Antropoceno na Amazônia.

I have BA in Social Sciences (1991), MA in Social Anthropology (1995) from the University of São Paulo and PhD in Anthropology and Sociology at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies from Genebra (2022). Since 1996 I am part of the team of Rio Negro Program of the Instituto Socioambiental (Socio-environmental Institute), as advisor and researcher. I am ethnologist, working in the northwestern Amazon region since 1991, especially in the Tiquié River. I am specialized in Eastern Tukano peoples of the Brazilian-Colombian border. I have conducted research mainly related to social organization, cosmology, indigenous calendar and about the Anthropocene in the Amazon region.
