Claudio Dantas Monteiro

Doutor em Sociologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Pesquisador do Grupo de Pesquisa Violência e Cidadania (GPVC/UFRGS) e do Núcleo de Estudos sobre Violência e Segurança (NEVIS/UnB). Atualmente compõe o quadro do Escritório das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crime (UNODC). Sua área de atuação e pesquisa relaciona-se com sistema de justiça criminal, políticas sobre drogas, relação entre polícia e sociedade, cultura policial e segurança cidadã. É mestre em Sociologia e bacharel em Ciências Sociais com habilitação em Sociologia pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB).

PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Researcher at the Violence and Citizenship Research Group (GPVC/UFRGS) and at the Center for Studies on Violence and Security (NEVIS/UnB). He is currently on the staff of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). His area of expertise and research is related to the criminal justice system, the relationship between police and society, police culture and citizen security. He holds a master's degree in Sociology and a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a degree in Sociology from the University of Brasília (UnB).
