João Manoel Lenz

Formado em Engenharia Elétrica (2013) pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, e foi bolsista de Iniciação Científica com foco em modelagem e integração de fontes renováveis. Recebeu os graus de Mestre e Doutor em Engenharia Elétrica em 2015 e 2019, respectivamente, pelas linhas de Sistemas de Energia e Eletrônica de Potência, pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica, UFSM. É membro do Grupo de Eletrônica de Potência e Controle (GEPOC), realiza pesquisa com ênfase em energia fotovoltaica, confiabilidade em eletrônica de potência e projeto otimizado de conversores estáticos. Tem experiência em modelagem de células e sistemas fotovoltaicos, geração com fontes alternativas de energia e integração de fontes renováveis. É membro ativo das sociedades IEEE Industrial Applications e IEEE Power and Energy, onde já ocupou os cargos de tesoureiro do Ramo Estudantil IEEE/UFSM e Presidente do Capítulo IAS SB IEEE/UFSM. De 2018 a 2019 foi pesquisador visitante no Center for Reliable Power Electronics, na Aalborg University, Dinamarca. de 2020 a 2023 foi professor e pesquisador na UNIJUÍ. Atualmente é Professor Adjunto na Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana, Brasil.

Received his degree in Electrical Engineering (2013) from the Federal University of Santa Maria, where he was granted with different scholarships for scientific research with focus on modeling and integration of renewable energy sources. In 2015, he received the degree of MsC in Electrical Engineering, from the same institution, on Energy Systems, and in 2019 the degree of Doctor in Electrical Engineering in the field of Power Electronics, both in the Graduate Program of UFSM. Is a member of the Power Electronics and Control Research Groups (GEPOC) and his research interests are photovoltaic energy processing, reliability on power electronics, and optimum design of static converters. He also has experience in modeling of photovoltaic cells and systems, power generation with alternative energy sources, and integration of renewables. He is an active member of the IEEE Industrial Applications Society and IEEE Power and Energy Society where he occupied the positions of IEEE/UFSM Student Branch treasurer and IAS Student Branch Chapter Chair. From 2018 to 2019, he was a guest researcher at the Center of Reliable Power Electronics (CORPE), Aalborg University. Currently he is Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Latin-America Integration, Brazil.
