Ricardo Silva Porto

I obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2000), a Master's degree in organic chemistry (2003), and a Ph.D. in Science (2008), both from the State University of Campinas. I have experience in synthetic organic chemistry, emphasizing the synthesis of biologically active compounds, the development of synthetic methodologies through catalysis, and the characterization of natural products by spectroscopy techniques. I had two postdoctoral fellowships at UFMG (Brazil) and Rothamsted Research (United Kingdom.) I am currently an associate professor III at the Federal University of Alagoas and developing projects aimed at the synthesis, biological activities and in silico studies of compounds with pharmacological interests.
