Jorge Luis Guevara Díaz

I am research scientist at IBM-research, within the Natural Resources Analytics Group. I am interested in machine learning, specifically kernel methods, deep learning and speech recognition.I got a PhD degree from the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics- University of Sao Paulo Brazil (IME-USP). My doctoral thesis was about the study of learning models over fuzzy and distributional data.I did a PhD internship at LITIS laboratory-INSA Rouen, France (October, 2012 - September, 2013). My doctoral advisor and my internship advisor were Dr. Roberto Hirata Jr and Dr. Stéphane Canu.In the past (2007-2009) I was professor at undergraduate level. I taught the following courses: Speech Recognition,Computer Graphics, Image processing, Numerical Computing and Intelligence Artificial.I am looking the opportunity of advise master students. (less)

Jorge Guevara is a PhD student at the Institute of Mathematics and Statitstics- University of Sao Paulo Brazil, under advise of Prof. Roberto Hirata Jr. As part of his Phd he did one year of Internship in LITIS laboratory-INSA Rouen, France (October, 2012 - September, 2013). under advise of Prof. Stéphane Canu, working with kernel methods.He had teaching experience (2007-2009) at Laureate International Universities (Perú) and at University National of Trujillo (Perú) with the courses: Speech Recognition,Computer Graphics, Image processing, Numerical Computing and Intelligence Artificial.Also, he participated in several Seminars and Invited Talks.
