I studied Medicine at the University of Passo Fundo in Southern Brazil. After my graduation in 2005, I undertook three years of residency in Family Medicine at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. In 2011, I earned my master?s degree in Epidemiology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) after studying the reliability and performance of questionnaires used to evaluate adherence to hypertensive treatment. Then, I started working as a faculty at the Department of Collective Health of the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) until 2016. I also used to share my time working as a Family Physician at the Brazilian Public Health System and at the Telemedicine Government Program (TelessaúdeRS) supporting clinical decision making by physicians at primary care. Since August 2016, I am living in Amsterdam with my partner where we were very welcomed. In the meantime, I worked on my Ph.D. thesis, which I successfully defended in June 2017 at the Postgraduate Program in Epidemiology UFGRS. The focus of my thesis was to perform an economic evaluation of Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Strategies at the Public Health System. To flourish on the cost-effectiveness topic, I attended the Economic Evaluation course coordinated by Professor Judith E. Bosmans at Vrije Universiteit in 2016. Currently, I am working as a researcher at the Department of Health Sciences, Health Technology Assessment section, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and at Amsterdam Institute for Global Health Development.
