Armando Albertazzi Gonçalves Júnior

Graduado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1982), mestrado (1984) e doutorado (1989) em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina e pós-doutorado pela Illinois Institute of Technology (1991). É professor titular da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, onde ingressou em Junho de 1987. É autor do livro Fundamentos da Metrologia Científica e Industrial (Ed. Manole 2008/2018). Em meados de 2023 contava a autoria ou coautoria de 63 artigos publicados em periódicos indexados e 225 artigos publicados em anais de congressos, autoria/coautoria de dois livros e a edição de 7 anais de eventos. Foi membro de Comitê Científico Internacional de cerca de 50 congressos e presidente ou vice-presidente de dez congressos internacionais. Desde 2008 é Fellow da International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). É Bolsista de Produtividade do CNPq 1B. Coordenou 30 projetos de pesquisa de grande porte que captaram cerca de US$ 20,5 milhões. Foi coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Metrologia Científica e Industrial nos períodos 1996-2001, 2006-2011 e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica no período 2013-2016. Foi Superintendente de Pesquisa da UFSC no período 2016-2020. Atua na área de metrologia óptica, com ênfase no desenvolvimento e aplicação de técnicas e equipamentos para medição da geometria e tensões residuais de tubulações e na área de ensaios não destrutivos com laser. Desde a década de 1990 atua fortemente na área do petróleo e gás. Desde 2020 está presidindo o grupo de trabalho que está implementando o InPETU hub Instituto de Inovação, Pesquisa, Empreendedorismo e Tecnologia da UFSC.

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1982), Master's (1984) and Ph.D. (1989) in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and post-doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology (1991). He is a full professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he joined in June 1987. He is the author of the book Fundamentals of Scientific and Industrial Metrology (Ed. Manole 2008/2018). In mid-2023, he had authored or co-authored 63 articles published in indexed journals and 225 articles published in conference proceedings, authored/co-authored two books and edited 7 conference proceedings. He was a member of the International Scientific Committee of about 50 conferences and president or vice-president of ten international conferences. Since 2008 he is a Fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). He is a CNPq 1B Productivity Scholar. He coordinated 30 large-scale research projects that raised an estimated $20.5 million. He was coordinator of the Graduate Program in Scientific and Industrial Metrology in the periods 1996-2001, 2006-2011 and of the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering in the period 2013-2016. He was Research Superintendent at UFSC from 2016 to 2020. He works in the area of optical metrology, with emphasis on the development and application of techniques and equipment for measuring geometry and residual stresses of pipes and in the area of non-destructive testing with laser. Since the 1990s, he has been strongly involved in the oil and gas sector. Since 2020 he is chairing the working group that is implementing the InPETU hub UFSC Institute of Innovation, Research, Entrepreneurship and Technology.
