Mario Leonardo Osorio Dominguez

Doctoral candidate (2018 -) in Social Anthropology at the University of Brasília. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Kent, UK (2012). He has developed research with the indigenous people Ashéninka of the region of the Upper Tamaya in the border of the Peruvian-Brazilian Amazonian of Ucayali with Acre. Has experience in sustainable development projects in the Peruvian Amazon, as a specialist in territorial management, forestry and socio-environmental issues, mainly in the following subjects: management of great landscapes with emphasis on indigenous territories and protected areas; defense of the territorial rights of indigenous and traditional communities; environmental conservation and forest and indigenous politics. He has consulted for public and private institutions and has held a project management position in the civil society organization Instituto del Bien Común from Perú, and in partnership with other organizations from other countries in the Amazon Basin. It has also been part of global reach initiatives such as the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) and the Sustainable Tropics Alliance (STA).

Doutorando (2018 - ) em Antropologia Social na Universidade de Brasília. Possui mestrado em Antropologia Ambiental pela University of Kent, Reino Unido (2012). Graduado em Ciências Florestais pela Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Lima, Perú. Tem desenvolvido pesquisa com o povo indígena Ashéninka da região do Alto Tamaya na fronteira da Amazônia peruana-brasileira de Ucayali com Acre. Tem experiência em projetos de desenvolvimento sustentável na Amazônia peruana, como especialista em gestão territorial, florestal e socioambiental, principalmente nos seguintes temas: gestão de grandes paisagens com ênfases nos territórios indígenas e áreas protegidas; defesa dos direitos territoriais de comunidades indígenas e tradicionais; conservação ambiental e politica florestal e indígena. Tem realizado consultorias para instituições publicas e privadas e ocupado cargos de direção de projetos com a organizacão civil peruana Instituto del Bien Común, e em parceria com organizações de outros países na bacia amazônica. Também tem sido parte de iniciativas com alcance global como a Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI), e a Sustainable Tropics Alliance (STA).
