Professor Titular do Instituto de Química da UNESP, Araraquara. Membro titular da Academia Brasileira de Ciências (ABC) eleita em 12/2018. Atual Vice-Reitora da UNESP (2021-2024). Bacharel em Química pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) (1982). Mestre em Química Orgânica (1985) e Doutor em Ciências pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP/SP)(1990). Realizou Pós-Doutorado no Institute of Biological Chemistry, Washington State University, EUA (08/1992-12/1993). Livre docente em Química Orgânica pelo Instituto de Química, UNESP, Araraquara em 2000. Foi Diretora do Instituto de Química da UNESP de 2004-2008 e coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Química (2000-2004). Foi editora associada do periódico Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, no período de 2004-2006. Foi assessora da Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa da UNESP, no período de 2008-2016 e coordenadora do Programa Institucional de Iniciação Científica PIBIC/PIBITI/CNPq da UNESP, no período de 2012-2016. Foi avaliadora de projetos de infraestrutura FINEP em 2014, 2015 e 2016. Foi Pró-Reitora interina de Pesquisa e de Graduação da UNESP em 2016. Foi membro titular do comitê assessor da avaliação dos programas de pós-graduação da área de Química na CAPES no período de 2006-2012 e coordenadora adjunta da área de Química de 2013-2021. É membro da coordenação de área da Química na FAPESP desde 2020. É membro do Conselho Consultivo da Sociedade Brasileira de Química. Possui colaboração em pesquisa com grupos internacionais e participou ativamente do programa de internacionalização da UNESP, no período de 2012-2016, promovendo a divulgação de seus grupos de pesquisa e possibilidades de intercâmbio científico durante missões e apresentações em universidades de classe mundial na Alemanha, Bélgica e Canadá. Ministrou diversas palestras em eventos nacionais e internacionais. É pesquisadora principal do Centro de Pesquisa e Inovação em Biodiversidade e Fármacos (CIBFar). Recebeu a Medalha Simão Mathias da Sociedade Brasileira de Ciências pela contribuição ao desenvolvimento da Química em 24/11/2021.Tem experiência na área de Química Orgânica, especialmente nos aspectos estruturais, biológicos e biossintéticos de Produtos Naturais, com ênfase em Biologia Sintética.

She was Director of the Institute of Chemistry at UNESP from 2004-2008 and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemistry (2000-2004). She was an associate editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, from 2004 to 2006. She was an advisor to the Dean of Research at UNESP, from 2008 to 2016 and coordinator of the Institutional Scientific Initiation Program PIBIC/PIBITI/CNPq of UNESP, from 2012 to 2016. She was an evaluator of FINEP infrastructure projects in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She was interim Dean of Research and Undergraduate Studies at UNESP in 2016. She was a member of the advisory committee for the evaluation of graduate programs in the Chemistry area at CAPES in period 2006-2012 and assistant coordinator of the Chemistry area from 2013-2021. She has been a member of the coordination of the Chemistry area at FAPESP since 2020. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Chemical Society. She collaborates in research with international groups and actively participated in the internationalization program of UNESP, in the period 2012-2016, promoting the dissemination of her research groups and possibilities for scientific exchange during missions and presentations at world-class universities in Germany, Belgium and Canada. She has given several lectures at national and international events. She is a principal researcher at the Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Pharmaceuticals (CIBFar). She received the Simão Mathias Medal from the Brazilian Society of Sciences for his contribution to the development of Chemistry on 11/24/2021. She has experience in the field of Organic Chemistry, especially in the structural, biological and biosynthetic aspects of Natural Products, with an emphasis on Synthetic Biology.
