Olivia Soares Pereira

Obtained her Bachelor degree in Oceanography at Instituto Oceanográfico, Universidade de São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil), in 2015, and Master in Science in Oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego (California, USA), in 2020. She is currently a PhD Student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, studying the dynamics of invertebrates on carbonate rocks at methane seeps and phosphorites and ferromanganese crusts. She has experience in Oceanography, focusing on the interactions between marine organisms and the environment, acting on the following subjects: bentos, macrofauna, deep sea, chemosynthetic ecosystems, connectivity and trophic ecology.

Possui graduação em Bacharelado em Oceanografia pelo Instituto Oceanográfico, Universidade de São Paulo (São Paulo, BR), em 2015 e Mestrado em Oceanografia pelo Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego (Califórnia, EUA), em 2020. Hoje, é aluna de PhD no Scripps Institution of Oceanography, onde estuda a dinâmica de invertebrados associados a rochas carbonáticos em exsudações de metano e a rochas polimetálicas. Tem experiência na área de Oceanografia, com ênfase em Interação entre os Organismos Marinhos e os Parâmetros Ambientais, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: bentos, macrofauna, mar profundo, ambientes quimiossintéticos, conectividade e ecologia trófica.
