João Carlos Nara Júnior

Architect and Urban Planner (UFF), PhD in Compared History (UFRJ), MSc in Archaeology (National Museum/UFRJ) and History graduate (UniRio). He works at UFRJ Technical Office. He was general coordinator of the Project Rescue of the historical documentation Barão do Rio Branco and member of the Brazilian section of the Luso-Brazilian Commission for Safeguarding and Divulgation of the Documentary Heritage (COLUSO) from 2020 to 2022. Effective member of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IHGRJ). He has dedicated himself to the preservation of Cultural Heritage at the federal level as architect of the UFRJ (2013-2018), substitute head of the Engineering Team of the National Archive (2019-2020), Coordinator of Institutional Cooperation Fundação Biblioteca Nacional (2020-2021) and Executive Director of Fundação Biblioteca Nacional (2022). Researches colonial Rio de Janeiro and is interested in hodology (routes, paths and methods), 4A approach (Architecture, Art, Archaeology, Anthropology) and OPEN approach (objects, practices, surroundings and narratives). He is currently coordinating the project Identification and exposition of historical documents related to the process of Independence of Brazil, approved in the scope of FAPERJ's Edict: Support Program to Projects within the Bicentennial of Independence of Brazil (2021).

Arquiteto e Urbanista (UFF), doutor em História Comparada (UFRJ), mestre em Arqueologia (Museu Nacional/UFRJ) e licenciado em História (UniRio). Servidor Escritório Técnico da UFRJ. Foi Coordenador-geral do Projeto Resgate de documentação histórica Barão do Rio Branco e Membro da seção brasileira da Comissão Luso-Brasileira para Salvaguarda e Divulgação do Patrimônio Documental (COLUSO) de 2020 a 2022. Sócio efetivo do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico do Rio de Janeiro (IHGRJ). Dedicou-se à preservação do Patrimônio Cultural em âmbito federal como arquiteto da UFRJ (2013-2018), chefe substituto da Equipe de Engenharia do Arquivo Nacional (2019-2020), Coordenador de Cooperação Institucional Fundação Biblioteca Nacional (2020-2021) e Diretor Executivo da Fundação Biblioteca Nacional (2022). Pesquisa o Rio de Janeiro colonial e tem interesse por hodologia (rotas, caminhos e métodos), abordagem 4A (Arquitetura, Arte, Arqueologia, Antropologia) e enfoque OPEN (objetos, práticas, entornos e narrativas). Coordena atualmente o projeto Identificação e exposição dos documentos históricos relativos ao processo de Independência do Brasil, aprovado no âmbito do Edital da FAPERJ: Programa Apoio a Projetos no Âmbito do Bicentenário da Independência do Brasil (2021).
