Fernanda Gonçalves Arcanjo

Doutoranda no PPG em Biologia Comparada da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto, na Universidade de São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP). Possui bacharelado em Ciências Biológicas, com ênfase em Biologia do Desenvolvimento, pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) e mestrado em História das Ciências e das Técnicas e Epistemologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Atualmente desenvolve tese em História da Genética no contexto da primeira metade do século XX. Integra o grupo de pesquisa do Laboratório de História e Teoria da Biologia (LHTB) do departamento de Biologia da FFCLRP-USP. Colabora, também, com o Laboratório de Genética Marinha e Evolução (LGME) do departamento de Biologia Marinha da UFF, onde desenvolveu sua dissertação. Além de história da genética, tem interesse na pesquisa em história da hereditariedade no século XIX, história das teorias evolutivas e em história da embriologia e da biologia do desenvolvimento. Também tem interesse em Epistemologia e Filosofia da Ciência.

PhD student in the postgraduate program in Comparative Biology at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, at the University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP). I hold a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis on Developmental Biology, from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) and a master's degree in History of Sciences and Techniques and Epistemology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). I am currently developing a thesis on the History of Genetics in the context of the first half of the 20th century. I integrate the research group of the Laboratory of History and Theory of Biology (LHTB) at the Department of Biology of FFCLRP-USP. I also collaborate with the Laboratory of Marine Genetics and Evolution (LGME) at the Department of Marine Biology of UFF, where I developed my dissertation. In addition to the history of genetics, I have interest in history of heredity in the 19th century, history of evolutionary theories and history of embryology and developmental biology. I am also interested in Epistemology and Philosophy of Science.
