María Soledad Escobar Villegas
I finished my studies in Political Science and Sociology in 2005, and since then both my academic and work experience have focused on social research, particularly in the theme of international migration. Within this field, over the last six years I have concentrated my research in the study of public opinion. I have been mainly involved in the collection, analysis and interpretation of qualitative data obtained from focus groups and interviews with native and immigrant populations. I have also participated in the writing of reports and scientific publications, including books, journal articles and papers presented at major conferences. In addition, as part of my tasks, I have gained experience of working with quantitative data, and I have participated in the elaboration of other documents relating, for instance, to the labour market integration of migrants. In academic field, I have recently finished a Master´s degree in Antropology: Management of Cultural Diversity, Heritage and Development, with excellent marks.
