Josué Alencar Bezerra

Concluiu a Graduação e o Mestrado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) e o Doutorado em Geografia pela Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE), oportunidade em que participou da Missão de Estudos (PROCAD/CAPES) no Instituto de Geografia da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU). Foi professor substituto do Departamento de Geografia da UFRN/Natal e atualmente é professor efetivo do Departamento de Geografia/Campus de Pau dos Ferros, da Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), de onde faz parte do corpo docente permanente do Programa de Pós-graduação em Planejamento e Dinâmicas Territoriais no Semiárido (PLANDITES). É atualmente Líder do Núcleo de Estudos em Geografia Agrária e Regional (NuGAR). Atualmente é Coordenador Institucional junto à UERN do Curso de Doutorado Interinstitucional em Desenvolvimento Urbano (parceria MDU-UFPE/UERN) e avaliador para os atos autorizativos de reconhecimento e renovação de reconhecimento de cursos superiores do Brasil do SINAES/INEP/MEC. Faz parte de conselho científico e de avaliação ad hoc de algumas revistas científicas, incluindo a Revista Geografia - Londrina (ISSN: 01023888); Revista Mercator (ISSN:19842201), Revista URBE (ISSN: 2175-3369) e a Revista de Geografia da UFPE (ISSN: 01045490). Exerce a função de Editor Chefe da revista Geotemas (2236-255X). Área de interesse em pesquisa: produção do espaço urbano; práticas espaciais urbanas; dinâmicas e interações urbano-regionais; aspectos da urbanização em áreas não metropolitanas; urbanidade no rural; mobilidade espacial da população; comércio e consumo urbanos e pequena cidade.

He completed his Graduation and Masters in Geography at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and a Doctorate in Geography at the State University of Ceará (UECE), in which he participated in the Study Mission (PROCAD/CAPES) at the Institute of Geography from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). He was a substitute professor at the Department of Geography at UFRN/Natal and is currently a professor at the Department of Geography/Campus of Pau dos Ferros, at the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), where he is part of the permanent faculty of the Program Postgraduate Program in Planning and Territorial Dynamics in the Semi-Arid Region (PLANDITES). He is currently Leader of the Center for Studies in Agrarian and Regional Geography (NuGAR). He is currently Institutional Coordinator at UERN of the Interinstitutional Doctoral Course in Urban Development (MDU-UFPE/UERN partnership) and evaluator for authorizing acts of recognition and renewal of recognition of higher education courses in Brazil by SINAES/INEP/MEC. He is part of the scientific council and ad hoc evaluation of some scientific journals, including Revista Geografia - Londrina (ISSN: 01023888); Revista Mercator (ISSN:19842201), Revista URBE (ISSN: 2175-3369) and Revista de Geografia da UFPE (ISSN: 01045490). He works as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Geotemas (2236-255X). Area of ​​interest in research: production of urban space; urban spatial practices; urban-regional dynamics and interactions; aspects of urbanization in non-metropolitan areas; spatial mobility of the population; urban commerce and consumption and small town.
