I am broadly interested in the ecological and evolutionary drivers of species distributions across a range of spatial and temporal scales. Ongoing research includes topics in macroecology, macroevolution, community ecology, biogeography, phylogenetic and functional diversities. The main questions guiding my research are: which mechanisms and how they are responsible for generating patterns of diversity in space and time? To answer them I have been using information on species geographical distributions, species traits, current and historical environmental variables, spatial analysis and phylogenetic comparative methods. Although most of my studies are focused on mammals, I have no particular bias with regards to any biological group. All that matters are good questions and hypotheses being addressed. I use R in most of my analysis and personalized codes used in my papers are available upon request. I am also interested in describing aspects on the natural history and geographical distribution of several taxa.
