Ph.D. (2007, FAPERJ scholarship) and M.Sc. (2002, CNPq scholarship) in Botany by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, National Museum. As a plant scientist, her research focuses on plant taxonomy and evolution and she is a research member of The Brazil Flora Group (BFG), working on The Flora & Funga do Brasil Project at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. She is interested in flora diversity, ecology and conservation of the campos rupestres - the megadiverse Brazilian rocky montane savannas - and Euphorbiaceae (mainly rare species of Bia, Croton and Manihot). She worked as a Postdoc researcher in the Ecology and Evolution Postgraduate Program at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG, CNPq fellowship) and in the Botany Postgraduate Program at the National Museum (UFRJ, CAPES fellowship). As a professor, she worked in different levels of education: Middle School (Rio de Janeiro City Hall); High School (CAP-UFSC); Higher Education (UERJ); Postgraduate Program (UFRJ). She also has been working as a freelancer scientific/technical reviewer in the publishing market (Elsevier, Sextante).
